SONA IT Center

The most precious jewel on the crown of Sudharsan is its computing facility at Sudharsan Engineering College. Named 'Sona Memorial computer and IT Centre', in ever loving memory of chairman's beloved daughter, the three-level giant block with 4000sqm carpet area is spread in six large halls in every floor. Being an architectural masterpiece even its porch with its high ceiling and exquisite granite finish all over, the building will provide an inspiring sense to every visitor to this new age edifice.

Matching with grandeur of the house, every laboratory hall in the centre has arrays of high-end systems neatly laid out in plush interiors. All computers are networked in client-sever architecture and can harness extensive network and software support from three Pentium and eight Xeon servers. All systems are either VDI or CORE-2-DUO based. A set of 40 systems are reserved as stand-alone for network-free uses and practices. In all, the centre supports 400 systems within its precincts and around 800 in the entire campus.

Sona centre has its IT training resources deployed in eight spacious halls(IT LAB1,IT LAB2,IT LAB3,MCA LAB,CS LAB1, CS LAB2, CS LAB3,CS LAB4) each of them specially equipped for training in specified software resource.

All the systems in these labs have access to any of C, C++, Java, Oracle, Visual basic 6.0 , Visual Studio 2008, AutoCAD, ANSYS, Microsoft Office ,Rational Rose, Macro,media flash, Photoshop, Maya, 3ds Max, Study Skills, compliers and packages installed in the central servers.

In addition to the above, an exclusive lab facility has been set up for training in English Language Communication skill. This lab has 55 PCs equipped with training software for Speaking skill and the necessary hardware accessories like headphone with mike.

The centre has arrangement with Netschool, Chennai, a leading software training company, to design and deliver need-based training programmes to staff and students of the college. The centre extends unrestricted access to its resources for students training and its ambitious annual planner gets fatter every year - ultimately for the benefit of the students.

The centre provides 14Mbps net connectivity distributed throughout the campus including hostels through OFC and Wi-Fi connections.

CENTRAL LIBRARY

The Sudharsan Engineering College Library serves as a vital hub for academic exploration and research, providing a comprehensive collection of resources to support students and faculty alike. The Sudharsan Engineering College established its library in the year 2000. The library collection is about 37,368 Volumes. 84 National and International Journals also available to the library. Central Library is located in ground floor of Library block with a total area of 837 sq.m. Housing a diverse range of books, journals, and digital materials, the library caters to the diverse disciplines offered at the college. Beyond its extensive resources, the library provides a quiet and conducive environment for studying, fostering a culture of learning and intellectual growth within the Sudharsan Engineering College community. Modern amenities, such as DELNET Database access for the E- Resources and Digital Library Software using for library, further enhance the library's role as a central resource for academic success.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. Entry in Library Access

• Students should enter in library with their Identity card & Proper Dress Code.
• Enter the names in Library visit register & Bio Matric is compulsory

2. Working hours in library

• 09.00 am to 05.00 pm (Monday to Saturday)

3. Circulation System

• Every student can get 3 books at one time on behalf of library card for 15 days.
• Every Faculty Members can get 5 books at one time on behalf of Library card for 6 Months.
• Before receiving student should check the books condition, there shall be penalty.
• Members are advised to return/renew the books on are before due date marked on the book
• The same book can’t be renewed on that day.
• No book shall be returned on the day of issue.

4. Overdue Charge

• If the books are returned after due date then student will be fined 1Rs. Per day

5. Book Lost

• Loss of books any should be reported to the librarian immediately and Loss of books the borrower is required to replace the book by a recent edition. He will be paying the penalty two times the cost of the book

6. Care of library Borrowers Cards

• Handle the cards carefully
• Avoid folding & alteration of entries made on the cards
• Journals cannot be issued but can be used within the Library.

7. Validity of Library card

• Library card is valid for Four (4) year’s
• At the end of academic year student should return /cancel the library card in the library
• After course completion return the library card to librarian and get to due sign

8. Care of Library Books

• Student are required to handle the book/journal very carefully
• Student is punished to fined, if he/ she is found in marking with pencil, writing or highlighting, tearing the page
• Librarian may ask to return book from any student at any time and it is compulsory to return the same immediately

9. Reference Section

• In this section student can use their text books, reference book for their studies to be used only in the library

10. General rules for Library Users

• Silence should be strictly maintained in the library
• Keep your personal belongings at the Property Counter
• Use of mobile phones is not permitted in the library
• Please maintain decorum, peace and silence within the premises of library
• A person shall not write upon damage or mark any book belonging to the library
• Personals book shall not be allowed inside the library. Please leave them at the property Counter
• No Food, Snacks allowed inside the Library

11. Reading room general rules for Library users

• Group discussion is not allowed in reading room
• Use of mobile phones is not permitted in the library and reading room
• Students do not write, mark on any desk, table and chair belonging to the library

12. NO DUES Certificate

• At the end of every Semester student should close their account & get the NO DUES Receipt

Hostel

College life becomes highly memorable when you live with your colleagues in the college hostel. It is not only the joys of shared youth but also the comforts and convenience of a well-cared accommodation inside the campus that makes the hostel life all the more cherishable.

At Sudharsan, we realize this fact and take extreme care in providing a comfortable and conducive hostel environment. Separate blocks of hostels for boys and girls are available inside the campus with provisions for every personal need. All the rooms are bath-attached and are shared. In all, there are 320 beds in boys' hostel and 240 in girls hostel. Food is prepared in hygienically maintained steam-based kitchen and is served decorously in neatly laid separate mess halls for boys and girls. Varieties of tasty and wholesome food items are cooked and served as per inmates' consensus.

A wide choice of recreation and relaxation outlets like Television, Reading room, and indoor games are made available for serious and casual pursuits.

Canteen & Food Courts

College has spacious canteen facility in the college premises and a variety of south and north Indian food and snack items are provided to the students and staff of the college at highly subsidized rates with highest quality. Our college canteen is blessed with family atmosphere, with a variety of delicacies, touched by a homemade flavor, cooked to perfection and served with great courtesy. Refreshments are available at the college canteen at affordable rates. Adequate seating facilities are provided to accommodate students and staff even during peak time.

We provide our students with an excellent canteen, modern & hygienic. The dishes prepared here are delicious, and nutritious as well. Food items are prepared with RO treated water. Canteen can conveniently accommodate 200 students at a time.

Auditorium

An ultra modern conference hall is in place within the campus which is digitally equipped with the latest audio and video systems.

Industry experts are called for giving lectures who share their practical knowledge with students.

Symposiums and seminars are held frequently to encourage and motivate the students by conducting various events.
